BYD's Fang Cheng Bao Hits 100,000 Deliveries in Just 18 Months
Fang Cheng Bao, a sub-brand of BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY), has reached its 100,000th vehicle delivery, marking a major milestone in its rapid growth. The announcement was made today via the brand's official Weibo account, highlighting that Fang Cheng Bao is now among the top three fastest-growing automotive brands in China to hit this delivery mark.
This achievement comes just 18 months after the brand began deliveries in November 2023.
Fang Cheng Bao Delivers 8,650 Vehicles in May So Far, Following Strong April Sales
Fang Cheng Bao sold 10,039 vehicles in April, bringing its cumulative sales to 91,351 units, according to data compiled by FANS BYD. Based on its recent announcement of reaching the 100,000-unit milestone, the BYD sub-brand has delivered approximately 8,650 vehicles so far in May.
Fang Cheng Bao: Rapid Expansion Since Launch, Three Models and a Sedan Incoming
BYD officially unveiled its premium sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao on August 16, 2023, alongside the launch of its dedicated technology platform, DMO. The brand debuted with the Bao 5, an off-road SUV, which officially hit the market on November 9, 2023, with deliveries beginning later that month.
On November 12, 2024, Fang Cheng Bao expanded its lineup with the launch of the Bao 8 — a larger off-road SUV and the first BYD model to feature Huawei's driver assistance system. This was followed by the Tai 3, introduced on April 16, 2025, as the brand’s first family-oriented SUV and the inaugural model in the Tai lineup.
Fang Cheng Bao is positioned to tap into China’s premium electric vehicle market. In the January–April period of 2025, the Bao 8 sold at an average price of around RMB 400,000 ($55,440), making it the brand’s most premium offering, with a price range of RMB 379,800 to RMB 407,800. The Bao 5 starts at RMB 239,800, while the more accessible Tai 3 is priced from RMB 133,800.
Currently offering only SUVs, Fang Cheng Bao plans to launch its first sedan later this year. According to brand general manager Xiong Tianbo, more models under the Tai series will also be introduced in the coming months.
