BYD's All-New Electric Sedan Seal 06 EV Opens for Pre-Order, Expected to Launch Later This Month

BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) has launched pre-orders for its all-new fully electric sedan, the Seal 06 EV — the latest addition to the Seal family.

The company made the announcement on the first day of the Greater Bay Area International Auto Show (2025 Shenzhen Auto Show) yesterday.

The Seal 06 EV is priced between RMB 120,000 (USD 16,670) and RMB 150,000, and is expected to officially launch in the second quarter or later this month.

The Seal 06 EV made its debut in April at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, continuing the design language of BYD’s Seal family.

According to regulatory filings submitted in February, the Seal 06 EV is a fully electric mid-size sedan with dimensions of 4,720 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, along with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm.

All Seal 06 EV variants filed by BYD are single-motor models, offering maximum motor outputs of 110 kW and 160 kW, with top speeds of 160 km/h and 180 km/h, respectively.

Originally launched as a single electric sedan, the Seal lineup has since expanded into a full series of sedans.

The current Seal family includes the hybrid Seal 05 DM-i, Seal 06 DM-i, Seal 07 DM-i, the all-electric Seal 06 GT, and the original all-electric Seal sedan, with starting prices ranging from RMB 79,800 to RMB 239,800.

In April, BYD sold 380,089 new energy vehicles, marking a year-on-year increase of 21.34% and a month-on-month rise of 0.71%.

The Seal family recorded 26,051 units sold in April — an impressive year-on-year growth of 82.57%, though it represented a 41.54% decline compared to March.

BYD is expected to release its May new energy vehicle sales figures later today.
